Course Outline
On completion of this course, you will:
- have an increased level of confidence working with Aboriginal communities in the area of sexual health
- have a better understanding of cultural/community sensitivities and how to engage clients in the topic of sexual health
- understand the impacts of colonisation and generational trauma
- be able to identify the sexual health issues faced by Aboriginal people
- have a better understanding of the reasons behind disproportionate overrepresentation experienced by Aboriginal people in various statistics
- be introduced to new sexual health language and communication skills to improve client/worker relationships
- develop skills to yarn with clients about their sexual health needs
- be exposed to appropriate Aboriginal sexual health resources.

Eligibility
This course is only suitable for people who work directly with Aboriginal people or are undertaking studies with an Aboriginal focus.
