Reports and Advocacy

SHINE SA provides comprehensive and integrated sexual and reproductive health services and programs.

This work is underpinned by our strategic vision. You can learn more about our work below via our Annual Reports and strategic plan documents.

The work of our comprehensive relationships and sexual health education program is reported on in our Student Snapshot Report.

As an organisation we also advocate for sexual health and relationship wellbeing for all, our advocacy is highlighted below.

Improving Regional Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health 2024

This report describes the findings of a project by SHINE SA, funded by Country SA PHN, to understand how sexual and reproductive health services could be improved for people living in regional and remote SA.

Student Snapshot Report (see below)

At SHINE SA, we are committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health, rights and equity for all South Australians. Our advocacy work is grounded in the belief that access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, services, and resources is a fundamental human right.

We work alongside our communities, government bodies, healthcare providers, and community organisations to influence policies and initiatives that promote sexual and reproductive health and relationship wellbeing and equitable access to services, prioritising marginalised and diverse communities.

We advocate for evidence-based approaches to sexual and reproductive health that affirm and celebrate diversity, autonomy, and informed decision-making. This includes supporting policies that improve access to contraception, STI and BBV prevention, testing and treatment, inclusive and comprehensive relationships and sexual health education, and services that meet the needs of our communities.

By raising awareness and influencing change, SHINE SA aims to create a healthier, more inclusive society where everyone can access the information, care, and support they need to live their lives with safety, pleasure and respect.
