The Equity in Action: LGBTIQA+ Inclusion 101 training is a 3-hour workshop that provides participants with the knowledge they need to contribute to inclusive workplaces.
This training explores the diversity of LGBTIQA+ communities, the impact of discrimination, and supports organisations to begin implementing inclusive practices.
Participants will gain an understanding of how to:
- identify and explain LGBTIQA+ identities and concepts, including gender, sexuality and sex characteristics
- recognise how unconscious bias, personal assumptions, lived experience, and political and global trends influence the way we interact with and treat others
- describe the impacts of discrimination on LGBTIQA+ communities, including the effects of intersecting and compounding marginalisations
- apply inclusive language and practice in workplace environments and act as an effective ally
- identify concrete next steps for themselves and their organisation to continue building inclusive and affirming environments

Eligibility
This course is open to workplaces, organisations, community spaces/groups across any sector.
Course Cost
Cost for organisations: $1500 + GST
For organisation bookings, 2 face-to-face follow up consults are included in addition to the 3-hour workshop. Online options are available for participants outside of metropolitan Adelaide and workplaces with multiple locations.
Please note: Travel for face-to-face consulting is included within 60km: beyond may incur a cost to the organisation.
Cost for individuals: $150 + GST (follow up consulting is not included)
