The syphilis information health professionals need to know. 

Rates of syphilis continue to rise in South Australia. While syphilis is preventable, when left untreated it can lead to serious health complications. Health professionals play an essential role in encouraging the screening, testing and treatment of syphilis 

Course Outline

Presented by SHINE SA GP, Dr Nicola Chynoweth, this forum will discuss the latest information on syphilis and its implications for South Australian health professionals. 

This session will cover: 

  • signs and symptoms of syphilis 
  • syphilis testing, and treatment 
  • how to interpret syphilis results 
  • understanding priority populations in syphilis screening. 

 

Course Details

Registration and light refreshments will begin at 6:00 pm with presentation starting 6:30 pm.

This forum is a live event, held at SHINE SA Woodville (64c Woodville Road, Woodville).

This forum will also be presented live online, via Zoom.

We encourage the following professionals to attend: doctors, nurses, midwives, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and allied health professionals.
