Sexual and Reproductive Health Workshop

This interactive course for doctors will provide a foundational understanding of sexual and reproductive health in general practice.

The Sexual and Reproductive Health Workshop is a 1-day workshop for doctors early in their career looking for an introduction to sexual and reproductive health.

The workshop is designed for GP registrars based in hospital or in their first year of general practice placement. It’s also suitable for doctors new to general practice in Australia.

Course Outline

This training aims to increase knowledge and confidence in reproductive sexual health including contraceptive pill prescriptions, cervical screening and sexual history taking.

The workshop is interactive, with a strong focus on clinical skills including simulated practical training.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to provide contraceptive advice based on the stage of reproductive life
  • Develop skills in cervical screening process and procedures
  • Be equipped to provide screening for sexually transmitted infections
  • Improve skills in sexual history taking
  • Engage with simulated practical training

Course Details

Eligibility

GP Registrars based in hospital or GPs in their first year of general practice placement will benefit from this workshop.

This training is also suitable for doctors new to general practice in Australia and medical students.
