Equity In Action: LGBTIQA+ Awareness Training Online Course


This self-paced online course will you help improve your understanding of LGBTIQA+ people and experiences to help make workplaces and community spaces more inclusive.

Through interactive activities, real-life stories, and personal reflections, you will gain a deeper understanding of LGBTIQA+ identities, experiences, and the practical steps you can take to support inclusion.

Course Outline

By the end of this course, you will have:

  • an understanding of gender, sex and sexual diversity
  • an understanding of respectful language to use when talking about, and with, LGBTIQA+ people
  • the skills to get started with assessing and changing practices in your workplace, community groups or personal life
  • the confidence to raise issues of discrimination or inappropriate language in the workplace, and support those who are affected
  • additional links and resources for further support.

 

This course, developed by peers, features stories from LGBTIQA+ South Australians who have shared their lived experiences.

 

This online course is self-paced and takes approximately 3-3.5 hours to complete.

Eligibility

This course is for anyone wanting to create safer, more inclusive spaces for LGBTIQA+ people in their workplace or community.

This includes people who work in the healthcare sector, government and non-government sector, community sectors, domestic and family violence sector, youth sector and more.

It is designed for both LGBTIQA+ and non-LGBTIQA+ individuals, offering an opportunity for deeper learning about identities, histories, and community connections.
