SHINE SA’s Train the Trainer program supports practitioners to become a credentialed Contraceptive Implant (Implanon NXT) Trainer.
Becoming a Contraceptive Implant trainer will extend your sexual and reproductive health knowledge and further develop your skills in teaching and training.
This course is open to South Australian health practitioners who have extensive experience in sexual and reproductive health and a minimum of 12 months clinical experience with insertion and/or removal of Implanon NXT. Experience in training and education is recommended but not mandatory.
This program will provide trainers with the skills to equip trainees with up-to-date evidence-based knowledge and guidelines around the use of the contraceptive implant, insertion and removal and management of complications and side effects. This training is delivered in accordance with Implanon NXT Training Recommendations for Health Care Professionals.
The participant will be provided with training in teaching other health practitioners, facilitating learning and providing feedback and assessment. Health practitioners who insert but don’t remove contraceptive implants may also be eligible to provide training in insertion only.
