This course covers topics exploring the diversity of LGBTIQA+ communities, the impact of discrimination, and various options on how organisations can begin implementing inclusive practice.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have:
A clearer understanding of who LGBTIQ+ communities are and the language we use
More awareness of your own values, beliefs, and assumptions
Insight into how homophobia and transphobia affect the health, wellbeing, and service access of LGBTIQ+ people
Basic knowledge of anti-discrimination laws in South Australia and what rights people have
Practical skills to help create a safer, more inclusive workplace
Confidence to use respectful and inclusive language
An understanding of how LGBTIQ+ identities can intersect with other parts of a person’s identity (like culture, disability, or faith)
Information on where to find further resources and support.
