Sexual Health Physician Services
Dr Danae Kent is a Specialist Sexual Health Physician and S100 prescriber at Hyde Street Practice who has worked for over a decade in HIV and sexual health medicine. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Professional Association for Transgender Health and the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine. Dr Danae Kent specialises in transgender medicine (18+), HIV, sexual health, PrEP and PEP (HIV prevention), LGBTI health, pain with intercourse and low libido, erectile dysfunction, STI testing and treatment, Hepatitis C, chronic pelvic pain, genital herpes, genital rashes and warts and chronic vaginal discharge.

SHINE SA’s sexual and reproductive health clinic appointments can be booked at SHINE SA Hyde Street Practice. Sexual and reproductive health services include contraception, STI testing and management, HIV, PEP & PrEP.
Rapido – Rapid HIV Testing
Rapido is offered through a collaboration of SHINE SA and SAMESH. It is a free, less confronting HIV testing experience. Our model of service is a ‘peer’ model – the people doing the rapid testing are not doctors or nurses, they are the same as you. With a simple finger-prick test, you will find out your result in just 20 minutes.

Missed Appointments and Cancellations
There is very high demand for our appointments, please notify us if you are unable to attend your appointment. Clients who fail to attend their appointment without notice will be charged a $40 fee.
Practice Information and Policies
Email Policy:
Doctors at Hyde Street Practice do not use email communication with patients. Doctors do use encrypted electronic communication between other medical specialists, which ensures confidentiality for your information. If you would like to speak with your Doctor please make an appointment. This includes referral and script renewals, and any paperwork or medical form requests.
Accessible Parking
There are 2 on-street spaces available on Flinders St (240m), and 5 on-street spaces around Hindmarsh Square (270m).
This is in addition to any spaces provided by local off-street car parks. (The nearby Adelaide City Council Upark in Hyde Street provides free disabled parking for up to 2 hours).
The Adelaide City Council also allows additional time for regular on-street time limited parking spaces if a valid permit is displayed. Tickets do not need to be purchased. More information: Accessible parking | City of Adelaide
