Dr Sophia Scrimgeour

Sophia (she/her) works as a GP at Hyde Street Practice on Mondays and Thursdays.

She completed her GP/rural generalist training in the NT and went onto work in the remote NT and overseas, before moving home to Adelaide in 2023. She has completed additional training in sexual health (FPAA Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Certificate of Woman’s Health, RANZCOG), tropical medicine (DTM&H, LSHTM), palliative care (clinical diploma in palliative, RACP) and public health (ACRRM advanced skill in population health, BHlthSci majoring in public health), but finds the generalist nature and the personal relationships within of GP work the most fulfilling.

She also has an interest in HIV as an s100 ART prescriber, provides GAHC to adults using the informed consent model, and is an IUD and Implanon inserter.
