Developed and delivered by SHINE SA’s experienced educators’, doctors and nurses this free training opportunity is a chance to build your confidence around sexual and reproductive health topics including STIs and BBVs, contraception and early medical abortion (EMA).
These courses are suitable for GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and Nurses and Midwives.
Complimentary lunch is included and offers all participants the opportunity to meet our medical and clinical educators and learn more about SHINE SA and the resources available.
Travel and accommodation support can be provided to participants attending from surrounding areas.
Session 1: STI and Blood Borne Virus Workshop at Murray Bridge Golf Club (10am-12noon)
The workshop will build your general understanding of STIs and BBVs and will include clinical presentations of STIs and BBVs, testing, treatment, management, discussion of the Australian STI Management Guidelines and more.

Lunch at Murray Bridge Golf Club (12noon – 12.45pm)
Session 2: Option A. Contraception Workshop at Murray Bridge Golf Club (1.00pm-4.00pm)
This interactive workshop will provide a broad overview of choices in contraception, clinical consultation and the safe application of this knowledge in a clinical setting.

Session 2: Option B. Early Medical Abortion Workshop at Moorundi Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (1.30-3.30pm)
This workshop will provide a detailed overview of prescribing, delivering and managing medical abortion provision.
