Contraception Workshop for Nurses and Midwives
This interactive workshop will provide a broad overview of choices in contraception, clinical consultation and the safe application of this knowledge in a clinical setting.
Participants will cover:
- clinical consultation and counselling
- choices in contraception
- emergency contraception options
- in-depth review of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs)
- contraception initiation including quick start
- management of contraindications and side effects.

SHINE SA is offering full scholarships for primary healthcare workers working in regional and rural SA to complete our Contraception Workshop for Nurses and Midwives - at no cost you.
Scholarships cover full course fees and accommodation for participants from regional and rural South Australia.
Applications end 30 May 2026.
This project is funded by Country SA PHN.

Eligibility
This course is open to nurses, midwives, Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners, AMIC workers and other health workers who are interested in developing their knowledge of contraception.
