Webinar: Managing STIs in Pregnancy for Rural GPs

This webinar will provide rural GPs with an overview of STIs in pregnancy and will discuss screening, management and tools for clinicians.

This webinar will be presented by Dr Carole Khaw, Senior Consultant Sexual Health Physician at Adelaide Sexual Health Centre and Clinical Senior Lecturer at The University of Adelaide.

Course Details

Participants will cover

  • why it’s so important we screen for STIs during pregnancy
  • chlamydia, gonorrhoea and trichomoniasis and pregnancy
  • discussion about the syphilis outbreak in Australia and syphilis in pregnancy as well as the importance of increased testing for syphilis in at risk groups
  • screening for blood borne viruses in pregnant women
  • herpes and pregnancy and management
